Leicester City have the chance to secure their first ever Premier League title at Old Trafford this Sunday. Three points are enough to keep all 19 teams behind them for the rest of the season.
Manchester United on the other hand would like to finish the season with a great run to grab a Champions League spot. If that should be possible, they absolutely need three points against Leicester City. That’s for sure.
However, Leicester haven’t lost since mid-February and are not expected to slip when it matters the most. Sure, Manchester United have had a great couple of weeks lately (four straight wins) but are they solid enough to beat Leicester in this very tight game?
Important players can’t make it
Both teams will have to play this game without some key players. Manchester United’s injury problems continues, however, it is way better now than a month ago. Bastian Schweinsteiger, Luke Shaw and probably Adnan Januzaj won’t be able to make it.
In the away team, Jamie Vardy is out due to his suspension following his red card. Leonardo Ulloa are also questionable. Two important forwards, for sure.
With that many offensively strong players out, Leicester won’t be able to create as many chances we are used to see them do. Manchester United have also proved to have one of the strongest defenses in the whole league, with most clean sheets in Premier League.
Manchester United have had great problems scoring this season. 42 goals in 34 games says it all. That’s the complete opposite of impressive. Two teams with problems scoring and also an expected tight game between two of the league’s strongest team defensively.
